The highlights of our 3-day Costal tour from Marrakech:

Itinerary – Day 1: From Marrakech to the Atlantic Coast (Essaouira)

Morning: Our 4×4 private driver will meet you at your Marrakech hotel at 8:00 AM. While we are happy to adjust the departure time to your preference, we recommend an early start to ensure you have plenty of time for scenic stops and to fully soak up the coastal atmosphere of Essaouira.

Afternoon: Coastal Charm & Medina Exploration
The journey to Essaouira covers approximately 180 km (about 3 hours of driving, including stops). Upon arrival, you will:
- Check-in & Relax: Settle into our stunning boutique Riad, tucked away within the ancient Medina walls. Enjoy a traditional fresh mint tea and unwind for an hour or so.
- Discover the Medina: Spend the afternoon exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the vibrant Moulay El Hassan square, visit the historic Portuguese Skala (ramparts), and get lost in the charming, narrow lanes filled with local art galleries.
- A Taste of the Sea: For lunch, you can enjoy fresh grilled fish at a local restaurant or visit the bustling harbor to select your own “catch of the day” to be prepared at a nearby grill.
- Stroll the Ramparts: Spend the rest of your afternoon mingling with local vendors and taking in the sea breeze along the fortified town walls.

Evening: Sunset & Seafood
For the early evening, we have two wonderful recommendations to end your day:
- Sunset Excursion: Experience a magical one-hour horseback ride or quad bike tour across the Diabat Dunes, located just south of the city.
- Dinner: Enjoy a fresh seafood feast at a hand-picked local restaurant before retiring for a peaceful night’s rest at our Riad.

Itinerary – Day 2: The Coastal Road to the “Sand Dunes of the Sea”

Morning: Wild Beaches & Argan Forests
After a relaxed breakfast at the Riad, we begin our journey south along the coastal road (R301).
- Sidi Kaouki (25 km from Essaouira): Our first stop is this famous windsurfing village. It’s much quieter than Essaouira and offers a vast, wild beach—perfect for a quick walk or a coffee overlooking the waves.
- The Argan Trail: As we drive, keep an eye out for the famous “climbing goats” in the Argan trees. Since we are in a private vehicle, we can pull over for photos whenever we spot them!

Afternoon: The “Secret” Bay of Imsouane
We continue south toward what many call the most beautiful bay in Africa.
- Lunch in Imsouane: This small fishing village is famous for having one of the longest surf waves in the world. We will enjoy a freshly caught fish lunch right at the harbor, watching the colorful wooden boats come in.
- The Panoramic View: Before leaving Imsouane, we’ll stop at the cliffside viewpoint for a breathtaking photo of the entire bay.

Late Afternoon: The Timlalin Dunes (The “Sand Dunes of the Sea”)
We arrive at the breathtaking Timlalin, where the golden Sahara sands meet the crashing waves of the Atlantic.
- Dune Exploration: Take a walk through the massive dunes or try your hand at sandboarding down the slopes that lead directly toward the ocean.
- The Fisherman’s Caves: Explore the secret caves carved into the cliffs by local fishermen—a hidden gem that most tourists never see.

Evening: A Magical Night in the Domes
This is the highlight of the journey, offering a level of peace and privacy that standard tours simply can’t match.
- Sunset over the Atlantic: Watch the sun sink into the ocean from the top of a sand dune. The colors of the sky reflecting on the desert sand create a truly unforgettable moment.
- Traditional Nomad Dinner: Enjoy a delicious, home-cooked Moroccan dinner served under the stars. Our local chef prepares fresh, seasonal dishes that highlight the flavors of the region.
- Overnight in the Domes: Retire to your luxury desert dome. Our unique structures are designed to provide total comfort while keeping you connected to nature. Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the ocean waves and wake up to a sunrise over the dunes.

Day 3: The Rainbow Village, Surf Culture & The Road Home

Morning: A Colorful Start in Aghroud
After breakfast at the Timlalin Domes, we begin our journey south along the winding coastal road.
- The First Coffee in Aghroud: Our first stop is the vibrant fishing village of Aghroud. Known for its candy-colored houses and peaceful beach, it’s the perfect place for your morning coffee. Since it’s much less crowded than other coastal spots, you’ll have the chance to take incredible photos of the “Rainbow Houses” and enjoy the quiet local life.

- Taghazout Village: Just a short drive further south, we’ll visit the world-famous surf town of Taghazout. We’ll take a walk through the bohemian streets, watch the surfers at Anchor Point, and soak in the laid-back, international energy of the village.

Afternoon: Agadir Heights & Local Flavors
From the surf vibes of Taghazout, we move to the modern heart of the Souss-Massa region.
- Agadir Oufella (The Kasbah): We’ll head up to the historic 16th-century fortress ruins. From this viewpoint, you’ll see the entire Bay of Agadir stretching out below you—the perfect spot for a panoramic group photo.
- Lunch at the Marina: We’ll enjoy a fresh lunch at the modern Agadir Marina, where the Atlantic breeze keeps things cool and comfortable.
- Optional Souk Visit: If time allows, we can make a quick stop at Souk El Had, a massive and authentic local market, to pick up any last-minute Moroccan treasures.

Late Afternoon: Return to Marrakech
Around 3:00 PM, we leave the coast behind and head inland toward the mountains.
- The High Atlas Highway: We’ll travel via the modern A7 highway. It’s a smooth, comfortable 3-hour drive that offers beautiful views as the landscape shifts from the blue ocean to the red-earthed foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.
- Arrival: We will drop you off directly at your hotel or Riad in Marrakech by approximately 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM, concluding your 3-day adventure.

Excellent adding ideas for your 3-day desert trip itinerary:

An additional day in the Sahara Desert:
If your schedule allows, we highly recommend extending your 3-Day Desert Trip to include a second day in Merzouga. Starting the day by exploring the Sahara Desert’s hidden gems in a 4×4 car and ending the day relaxing in our paradise hotel (Riad Serai – View photos) situated in the middle of the desert, surrounded by golden dunes and palm tree oases.

Special events organizations:
Erg Chebbi is a unique and enchanting setting for special events. The Desert provides a distinct combination of tranquillity, cultural immersion, and breathtaking natural beauty. Our team is famous for planning extraordinary events in the heart of the Sahara Desert, including birthdays, anniversaries, marriage proposals, stag parties, etc.

Quad bike excursions:
One of the highlights of your 3 Day Sahara Desert tour is a quad bike ride across the enormous dunes of Erg Chebbi, accompanied by breathtaking sunset or sunrise vibes. Quads can be found in a variety of locations around the world (on beaches, mountains, etc), but nothing beats driving through the dunes of the Sahara Desert.

Fabulous Riads and hotels in Marrakech:
We offer a great selection of comfort and authentic Riads in Marrakech, always with free airport shuttles if your 3 Day Sahara Desert trip is booked with us.

What to wear in the Sahara Desert (BEST OUTFIT):
In the Sahara Desert, you can wear anything you wish. However, it would be a magnificent idea to dress in a style that complements the scenery and atmosphere of the Sahara Desert, such as the modern Berber look. Our suggestion is (Off-White Djellaba with light blue scarf, and not to forget the strap-style sandal), and don’t worry about where you can find this outfit. You can always ask your driver for an additional stop at one of the bazaars on the Desert route, where you can get this modern Berber clothing at a very good price.

Excellent 3-day Desert tour showing off some of the best sights in Morocco. The itinerary is well-planned, with smooth transitions between events. Mohammed was the best tour guide; knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The standout was definitely the night in the Sahara Desert. Our tour itself was fantastic and highly recommended. If I had more time, I’d spent another night in the Desert.
