Day 1: Marrakech To dades Valley

Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we would drive deep into the Dades Valley. Before reaching the mountainous Atlas foothills, you will be able to appreciate the gorgeous scenes of orchards along the Valley. Stop in Tamlalt to see the unique rocky outcrops known as monkey fingers.

After one hour drive, you will reach the Todgha Gorgoues. The Todgha Gorgoues are a series of deep-sided canyons cut out by fast-flowing rivers on their way down to the coastal plains on the eastern side of this range. The Gorges provide some incredible hiking and photographic opportunities.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga desert

Early wake up to see the sun rising over the dunes with nothing in its way. It is magic. Do not worry; today, we are not going anywhere else. You will have a full day to Explore the Sahara Desert.

Your driver will take you to enjoy the Gnawa music and learn about their history. For decades, black Africans of the Gnawa tribe from Sub-Saharan countries such as Sudan, Mali, and Niger were forcibly relocated from their homelands across the Sahara to Morocco as part of the global slave trade. As they walked the Desert shackled in chains, they sang to soothe and found awareness in the rhythmic chanting and clanking of the shackles. You will also visit the local Nomad families to learn about their way of life. The Nomad families will be more than happy to host you with a cup of tea. The highlight of the day will be driving off-road through the sand dunes. The sensation of driving 4WD in the Desert is an opportunity not to be missed.

Day 4: Merzouga desert to Marrakech

After breakfast in the morning, you will jump back into the car to start your journey back to Marrakech. We’ll take an alternative route through Rissani, Nkob, Agdz, and the Daraa Valley. You will stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before continuing to Marrakech through the high Atlas Mountains.
